The Artist Behind the Bottle
How do you draw an animal that almost nobody ever sees?

How do you draw an animal that almost nobody ever sees?
Every bottle of Snow Leopard Gin carries a snow leopard by the artist Stephen Rew. It is no ordinary label, and he is no ordinary artist. The cat itself is so elusive that even the researchers who protect it mostly know it by its prints in the snow.
In 2019, at London's Mall Galleries, Stephen was named Wildlife Artist of the Year by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. The competition was established by David Shepherd CBE and represents his vision of The Art of Survival - using art for wildlife conservation. Stephen's subjects include the snow leopard, and his art is exhibited in the UK, the USA, the Middle East and the Channel Islands.
Snow Leopard Gin brings that story full circle.
The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is Snow Leopard Gin's conservation partner. £500 from the sale of every bottle goes to the Foundation's work ending wildlife crime and protecting endangered species across Africa and Asia. And the snow leopard on every bottle is Stephen's.
The artist crowned by the Foundation. The Foundation funded by the bottle. The bottle carrying the animal both exist to protect. This is what it means to call Snow Leopard Gin a conservation art gin. With the snow leopard at its centre.
Most snow leopards live and die without ever being seen by human eyes. On every bottle, Stephen Rew has put one in view. Every sale helps keep the rest of them exactly where they belong. Unseen. Unheard. Untouched.
